For a time it looks like this is going to be his movie, which would have been great. And really, does it matter? Isn’t the point of a movie like this seeing two behemoths fight like oversized professional wresters, with skyscrapers filling in for the top rope? After you see the movie you still may be. You may wonder why Godzilla and Kong are fighting. But really, there’s only so much you can do with a movie like this. Adam Wingard is a good director, but he can only do so muchĪdam Wingard directs the film, which should be welcome news - if you’ve never seen “The Guest,” his terrific horror film from 2014, that’s a good place to start. No spoilers here, so betting lines remain open.
